Delete Measures?
I can't find anywhere in the manual how to delete measures. Can you help? Thanks.
Don't worry about being different. Just be really good and that will be different enough.
At the top of your main tracks window drag the I-beam across the tracks you want to delete, they will all turn blue then just delete. If you want to delete just certain beats then click on your zoom in the bottom right corner and do the same procedure for deleting.

I tried that, Scooter
Thanks for the quick reply scooter, but I tried that several times and it didn't work. I'm confounded.

ctl-J will "snip" the tracks. Delete will clear them. Sounds like you want to snip them.
You sure you have the manual? What version are you using?

neomatt,
Can you help me understand what "...and it didn't work." means? Did you select the measure up on the top of the sequencer ruler? did all the tracks highlight on that measure? did you have the snap to grid on so you got exactly a measure? Which delete did you use? The small delete or the large delete? [use the Large delete].

To neomatt's defense, i can understand why he may have had trouble finding that command in the manual. In many other DAW programs, the "splice edit", if you will, is not referred to as "snip", as DP does. I only say this from my own personal experience a while back when i had the hardest time digging in the manual for this function. Alas, I found it, and it's great.

neomatt: I don't have DP up and running at the moment so this may sound a bit vague but: If the solution offered above did not work for your needs, try the commands in the "Chunks" menu. There you can set the sequence start point and in doing so, delete the measures that come before that start point.
Peace!

I think the "Snip" command (command-J) is the best for deleting mesures. In manual is perhaps difficult to find because the command may be used for mesures, real time, frames, samples, on depend by the time formats you use. The command allows you to delete mesures like a notation software (Finale, Sibelius), in one or more tracks at the same time, or in all the score, if you select vertically all tracks (MIDI and/or audio)...
