DP8 asks me to save the document over and over and over
Hi, I'm having the strangest experience where DP8.01 is asking me over and over (and over) to save a document. Usually it's asking me to name and save a file that is already saved. Needless to say I'm winding up with way to many copies of the same project. Any help would be appreciated.
Here's the drill:
I open a project and start working on it. When I save DP says something to the effect that the file has been opened from a previous file and needs to named and saved. So I have to navigate around on the disk, find the correct location and save the file. Then a little while later, DP says that it has to create an analysis folder and asks me to save the file again and presents me with a blank file to save... etc. etc. etc
I have 2 copies of the DP8 app, One that is set for 32 bit and another set for 64 bit... could that be a problem? MOTU tech support said it shouldn't be a problem.

I'd look at the HD as a possible culprit or a damaged DP file.
You might first try starting a new project from scratch and loading the sequences (chunks), copying the audio, if any and see if it persists.

I ran into a problem somewhat similar to this, Unfortunately, I don't remember exactly how it happened or what I did to cause or fix it, but it had something to do with the auto backup files. Do you have auto backup on?

Yes auto save is on. I've never had this issue before. I've found that I'm able to escape out of saving it as a new file and it saves the existing file, but it's really strange behavior with DP that I've never experienced before.Dan Worley wrote:I ran into a problem somewhat similar to this, Unfortunately, I don't remember exactly how it happened or what I did to cause or fix it, but it had something to do with the auto backup files. My HD should be fine (It happens on 3 different HD's and an SSD and I don't think the file is corrupted. I talked to someone at MOTU tech support who had experienced something similar.MIDI Life Crisis wrote:I'd look at the HD as a possible culprit or a damaged DP file.

I had this happen when I stupidly renamed the project file in the Finder while the file was open in DP.
