Sluggish zoom behavior

I know we have covered the whole snappy-ness of DP plenty of times, but just wondering if anyone ever actually came up with a solution to making it more responsive? Recently, on some big template projects, when I try to zoom (horizontally or vertically) on a soundbite, DP's very sluggish and takes forever to zoom in. The more I zoom in, the worse it gets. Any thoughts?
