UltraLite Mk3 Hybrid Main OUT dead?

Post by alland »

Yesterday on stage my Ultralite Mk3 main out (L/R) became silent one after another. They were connected to mix desk via DI box. I am afraid I fried my outputs. Unit screen and CueMix meters still show L/R signal, nothing comes out.

On stage I was able quickly route my signal to another output pair and it worked (I was thinking all the gig these will go bad too, but they worked).

Has anybody got any experience of diagnose and repairing (have scematics/diagrams/parts information etc) of Motu Ultralite Mk3?

Thanks, Alland

Have you checked the System Preferences Sound panel to see if somehow the level or mute settings have somehow been altered - perhaps on the Mac keyboard?

This has caught me out in the past, since it has become an option to control the level and mute on the Mac......

Cheers

Try a factory reset.

You shouldn't need a DI with the line level balanced outputs of the MOTU (or any gear). If 48V turned on and you're connected to the mixer mic pre then you might hose your gear.

The main outs are on a separate board from the other outs, so it may be possible to just fry those and not anything else.
