I'm saying that it doesn't close ANY windows any more, doing that alt-click thing, at least on my system (DP 7.24). I wouldn't mind it if it shut any or all the windows! Just something to speed up the process of shutting a million windows!
Oh, wow, bummer! I wonder why it's doing that? So weird. Does it work outside of DP? If you option click on a Finder window will it close all of them, as it should?
Still works properly.

In that case, TOTAL bummer. But that's weird, as it happens in both of my studios, EXACT mirro studios. DP 7.24, OS 10.6.8 for the main DP computers. It works properly in finder windows, just not in DP. Odd.

How do you make them EXACTLY the same? I'd start to suspect whatever software your using to duplicate your systems (CCC?) and that whatever the error is, the software is duplicating is EXACTLY.

Time for a fresh OS install, IMO.

Well, actually I was referring to the Finder, not DP. So, I just tested it on DP, and it's working there, too. I figured it was, because I'd have noticed if my Command-W had stopped closing windows in DP!

So, to reiterate, Commmand-W is closing windows in DP as expected. All is well.

Oops. I just realized that between yesterday and today I forgot the command we were discussing. I tested Command-W, not Option-Click(close). So, I went and tested that. Here is how it worked:

With ten VSL interfaces open, distributed across two spaces, Option-Close (red close-button) on one VSL window closed all ten. Then I Option-Closed the MIDI Edit Window, and it closed all the open windows except for the Tracks Overview. What's interesting about that is that it closed a few windows in the Consolidated Window, but not all of them.

Anyway, Option-clicking the close button still works basically as it's supposed to.

Seems inconsistent. When I use option close it attempts to close all the windows and asks if I want to save the project. If I select cancel, it keeps the CW open and leaves everything else closed. It works as expected in the Finder.

I don't do mirror software. All fresh installs on new computers. I know it's something specific to me, but so weird! I just install from Dvd's/downloads. The only thing I copy over is sample content updates. (just drag them onto portable drive when i go between LA and Scotland). Have previously tried fresh OS and DP installs. Same problem Odd!
