forward loops??

forward loops??
does anyone know why it is that when i import certain samples, they are automatically set to "forward," which repeats the sample over and over again until the key is released. it doesnt appear to be any particular file type, and doesnt happen all the time, just sometimes. i find it quite annoying, anyone else?
