Quickscribe Note Spacing

Post by jmistler »

Having trouble getting measures, and the notes within measures, to be spaced in a balanced way that would be seen in a published score. I can only find two choices for this – specified number of measures per page and dense-less dense auto setting. After playing around with different settings for these, I cannot find one setting that properly spaces notes and measures – they are all over the place. In Finale, I can go in and adjust the grid within each measure if it calculates improperly. How can I accomplish this in Quickscribe?

You can't.
Use Finale.

There's a setting, which it looks like you already tried, that allows you to space them tightly or loosely. But that's about it.

It's really best to think of Quickscribe as just a rudimentary "sketch" tool rather than a notation app. Although you may be able to print out something really simple and have it look okay, if you really want notation--and notation editing abilities--you will need to use a program like Finale or Sibelius.
