Track 16 cutting in and out, bad Firewire connection?

I think the subject line says it out. My interface cuts in and out, and causes whatever is using it for audio to get confused, crash and uncrash, etc.

I'm pretty sure it's the firewire jack in the back. Feels like the cable isn't too secure, and if I give it a firm (but tender) shove in, it seems to fix it for a while. Using my own cable instead of the one supplied helped a bit too.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, or if MOTU have a recommended fix for it.

O some degree. I used the included power supply and have not had problems since. It was a little tricky finding the place to plug it in. It's on the breakout cable.

I am now completely suspicious that FW problems are related to the power going thru the cable. Self-power the T16 and I suspect your troubles will be over.
