DP 8 AU Plug ins not showing

Post by Julia123 »

I just loaded up 8.01 I think it's going to be great but I have a few issues and need to spend more time with it.
I do have one thing that I just can't figure out and I need to fix it to move forward. When I select AU as my preferred audio plugin, none of my personal presets show up as available on my Izotope products. I see they don't have .au and are stored in my DP presets instead of Izotope presets, where the new ones end up. (I tried moving them but it's the Audio Unit file that is wrong I figured out). When I select VST in preferences for audio plugin, it says all those plug ins are missing. What do I do to get my old presets available and be able to use these? Thanks!

Are your iZotope plugins 64-bit versions? DP8 will only show and run 64-bit versions if you are in 64-bit DP. There is no bit-bridge for stability reasons.

A good way to test is to simply start DP in 32-bit mode. (Right click....get info....check box for open in 32-bit mode)..and see if they show up then. If they do...you have to update your iZotope plugins...either to the latest version...free or paid....or whatever is available to you from iZotope.
Regards,

They are definitely 64 bit. It seems to be a VST versus AU thing but I really don't know. They are running fine when AU is selected, just without my own presets that I set up in DP7 available. Even if I physically move the files into the same folders as my new saved presets, they still are not available. The old files were saved differently by DP7 somehow.

Yea, I have the same issue. I find the AU plugs fine (search by manufacturer in the drop down) but, when I open a DP 7.24 project in 8, my settings are gone and I have to start from scratch - my workaround is not to open these older projects in 8. This is true for Nectar, Radius 2.1 and Ozone 5 Advanced,

Alloy is 32bit. I just upgraded to Alloy 2 which is 64bit. I haven't seen if it will remember my Alloy settings in 7.24 but it can't find them in DP 8.

I'm guessing the 64 bit and 32 bit versions are just different enough that it can't recall the old settings? I'm seeing some DP setting gone also, (dynamics, eq) but some still there (proverb). Those still recall there last DP7 settings, but no user presets available. I ended up taking screen shots of Nectar (which I just purchased but spent a lot of time tweaking in DP7) and transferring the settings manually to my DP8 version. After all that, I finally had to admit I just don't like Nectar! Now, I'm discovering some of the AWESOME new plug in's within DP8 though. Nice.

It's funny, but I'm not a big Nectar fan either. I sometimes use its presets on vocal files I receive from other studios but, otherwise, I can live without it.

Alloy 2, OTOH, along with Ozone 5 Advanced are tools I am glad to have in my kit.

RX 2 works miracles on garbage audio. I just used it with the other two to make a CD master from a cassette copy of a concert recorded on a Walkman in 1989. I took on the project to see if it could be done at all with the tools that are now available and everyone is quite pleased with the results.

I am also very happy with my Ozone 5! It really takes things up a notch for me. That's what lead me to purchase Nectar and Alloy 2. Alloy 2 is working out great, still getting used to it. I'm not sure what OTOH is?

Gotta love the Walkman fix! Very cool.

is this possibly another issue to do with the fact that Izotope installs both AU and MAS plugins? I'm not at my machine at the moment, but I have had some issues in the past.... so it may well be worth investigating.

Cheers!

If I'm understanding this right, I have the same issue (32 bit).

Ozone 5 does not show up in the right click drop down by manufacturer, but if I use the big list (at gig right now-I forget the exact term) it is there and selectable.
