8 Pre Dropout & Loud White Noise

I have a new 8 Pre.

Sonar 7PE and Vista Ultimate 64 Bit.

While mixing down some songs, the system just stopped streaming the sound of the mix and defaulted to LOUD White Noise.

Imagine defaulting to the highest volume of your mix for the output and then having that output be white noise.

I had to reboot Sonar.

I have my studio monitors on a remote power switch right next to me now with my hand on the power switch all the time. Believe me, when this happens a couple of times, you learn quick that you need to be ready.

While in Sonar's forum troubleshooting this, someone offered up their own experience and it was the same as mine, meaning it was not Sonar, but instead, Motu. Motu sent out another unit and they have not had this problem again. They mentioned some other problems existed, but were not specific.

I did upgrade the unit and have not had time to test it, but has anyone had this problem?
