Quite amusing.

So I take it that the real answer is that Giga libraries, like the Kurzweil/Akai/EXS libraries I've tried, don't seamlessly import into MachFive, otherwise someone would be able to provide some sort of reference.
I did above. Did you miss it?

I said the Big Fish Audio Orchestral Collection (Giga) imported into Mach Five without a hitch. To add, I've also imported Prime Sounds Session Strings (EXS), Soundscan samples (Akai -- although most are now available in Mach Five native format) and a bunch of old Akai samples acquired over the web. All loaded in easily and perfectly.

The ones that don't import in total without some adjustment, like VSL library stuff, are still very useable (the sounds stay fully intact after all). Just had to do a bit of file finagling after conversion to smooth the work flow.

Mach Five has worked great for me as a "universal sampler." I look forward to version two.

Thanks Chrispick. I did miss your post. I'll check out those libraries.

Speaking of EXS, have you had any luck importing the GarageBand stuff into MachFive? When I tried it, some of the stuff imported perfectly, but others were not so successful.

I haven't tried importing GarageBand stuff into MachFive (in fact, I keep forgetting I even have GarageBand!). Seems to me I remember someone posting on this site that they'd had some luck with it a long time ago though. Try running a search to see if you can find it.

To add to above: USB's Plugsound modules (www.ilio.com/usb/index.html) should load into MachFive easily as well as to the Soundscan samples (www.soundscan2.com). Some of these sounds are pretty useable, depending on the type of music you make. They're certainly priced decently.

Hope this helps.

Quite amusing.
Am I missing something here, perhaps we are at cross purposes?

My offer was tell me what sounds you want and I'll send you a disc with them on, what's amusing about that? Kind perhaps, amusing?!?/?!??!

Russ, are we talking about the same thing? I was simply asking for some referrals for sound libraries that play well with MachFive.

Thanks.

All of the masterbits libraries I've tried work, Akai format, especially the wonderful Peter Siedlanczeks Orchestra and the bass stuff. No problems with Soundfont stuff either. I downloaded the most amazing real drum kit for free which imported fine as a giga format.

I buy lots of libraries off ebay at a fraction of the cost - and no they are no pirate discs!

Same issue here. bought it a long time ago with the promise of a 'free upgrade to v2' (coming soon).....

now, it doesn't even work with protools 7 anymore. Drag and drop no longer works. UGH... Do I really have to spend $400 bucks to buy kontakt now ?

a date would be good, heck an idea of the development plan strategy would be good... but we haven't heard anything but 'we don't know'
