Problems uploading an mp3 to the cloud
Hello -and Happy New Year.
Had an issue regarding uploading an mp3 to the cloud. The file transfers to my iTunes folder ok; I see it, and can play it back. But it won't go to the cloud. When I update iTunes match, it vanishes.
The file is a: mp3 audio when I get info on it. I even converted it to mp3 in iTunes just to be sure, but it didn't take.
What am I doing wrong.
Thanks in advance!

How does this relate to "Digital Performer: Troubleshooting/Criticism"?

Re: Problems uploading an mp3 to the cloud
Well, FMiguelez.
The MP3 was created in DP when I did the bounce. I'm under the impression that since DP created the MP3 there is something wrong
therefore this is troubleshooting issue.
please act appropriately

Re: Problems uploading an mp3 to the cloud
Do you really want to argue about this? This is a moderator's request, not a suggestion.
If you don't agree, complain about it to James Steele and see what he thinks
Are you uploading to the cloud from within DP?
Hey, I'm having trouble with some counterpoint lines in my composition... Since it's being done in DP I should ask in the DP troubleshooting/Criticism forum!
Anyway, as you can see, your thread now is where it belongs.

Re: Problems uploading an mp3 to the cloud
This doesn't appear to be a DP problem. It appears to be an iTunes problem or perhaps an ISP problem.

Re: Problems uploading an mp3 to the cloud
Thanks, MIDI Life.
I at least I have a something to rule out, and a place to start. It can get complicated out here. So thanks for your patience.
FMiguelez: As cryptic and non-descript as my problem seems to be, as well as this problem being posted in the wrong place, I was hoping to have this issue addressed with the notion that perhaps someone out here had a similar issue/remedy. It wasn't meant to ruffle feathers or iguana scales for that matter. It's in your arrogant retort that leads one to believe, if you truly want to help someone solve a problem -what are you doing here? If you want to help, than help or at least point someone in the right direction.
Asking, "How does this relate to "Digital Performer: Troubleshooting/Criticism"? Please post in the appropriate forum, does nothing but make you look like a {censored}
Perhaps you're looking for some sort of forum proctor merit badge? I'm no doubt the first person you've attacked in this fashion and won't be the last. It's not that big a deal dude, we're not building missiles here....
And since you're playing smart-ass: In comparing the creation of audio and its pitfalls to a theoretical issue like counterpoint in composition -you picked a poor analogy.
Go stroke your lizard, hermano.

Re: Problems uploading an mp3 to the cloud
Yes. And you would probably have an answer already if you had posted in the right forum in the first place and if you stopped making personal attacks.Rhetro wrote: FMiguelez: As cryptic and non-descript as my problem seems to be, as well as this problem being posted in the wrong place, I was hoping to have this issue addressed with the notion that perhaps someone out here had a similar issue/remedy.
Would you care to explain how my answer was "arrogant"?!Rhetro wrote: It wasn't meant to ruffle feathers or iguana scales for that matter. It's in your arrogant retort...
Well, my record here speaks for itself. Feel free to check it out.Rhetro wrote:... that leads one to believe, if you truly want to help someone solve a problem -what are you doing here? If you want to help, than help or at least point someone in the right direction.
And I did point you to the right direction: Post in the right forum so you get your answers there, so you do not contaminate a forum with unrelated topics, that's all.
More personal attacks?Rhetro wrote:Asking, "How does this relate to "Digital Performer: Troubleshooting/Criticism"? Please post in the appropriate forum, does nothing but make you look like a {censored}
It doesn't make me look like a {censored}, dude. It's called doing moderation duties, so this place remains useful, with some amount of basic order and logic, where basic rules are observed, so this place remains what it is.
Think about it. Before making asinine comments you should consider what this place would look like if everyone followed your completely flawed logic. We would have only one forum called Digital Performer where every single topic would be crammed in there, since it has "something" to do with DP...
That's why we have different forums for different topics, and yours clearly has nothing to do with DP!
Exactly! That's the purpose of my lifeRhetro wrote:Perhaps you're looking for some sort of forum proctor merit badge?

Wait! Perhaps is simply that this place is what it is because the very few rules we have are observed naturally by most members without needed moderation. Obviously, you are not one of those members.
Well, it is a big deal to the site owner, so he doesn't have to waste his time babysitting and moving threads where they should be posted in the first place.Rhetro wrote:I'm no doubt the first person you've attacked in this fashion and won't be the last. Why don't you ask him yourself? Go tell daddy that I'm being a {censored} for requesting that you post where you are supposed to, and let us know what he tells you.
More personal attacks? Is that all you've got?Rhetro wrote:And since you're playing smart-ass: In comparing the creation of audio and its pitfalls to a theoretical issue like counterpoint in composition -you picked a poor analogy.
So, according to your logic, if you send an email with a DP-created mp3 attachment, and it gets returned to you, that also belongs in the DP Troubleshooting forum as well, correct? It was created with DP after all

I'm not your hermano, dude. Stop the trolling and personal attacks.Rhetro wrote:Go stroke your lizard, hermano.
You seem like a very fragile and insecure random internet dude who can not take a polite request to post in the appropriate forum...

THAT is unnecessary. Your post is deleted and I'll probably delete the follow up. Consider this a warning. Your response was uncalled for and it was indeed posted in the wrong forum so I moved it myself. Thanks.Rhetro wrote:Go stroke your lizard, hermano.

Re: Problems uploading an mp3 to the cloud
Therefore it really isn't. It doesn't seem likely the fact that DP created the MP3 has anything to do with your iTunes problem. Judgement call. I moved it.Rhetro wrote:I'm under the impression that since DP created the MP3 there is something wrong
therefore this is troubleshooting issue.
