ReWire Sibelius7 in DP8 - How to?

Dear Artists,

this is my first post here. I looked for similar questions around the forum but I did not find the answer unfortunately so I will bother you with my problem. I hope to solve it in order to help all the other people with the same issue.

After 3 years I used Logic Pro for composing (I just work in MIDI, I do not use Audio at all) I decided to purchase DP8 I was waiting for.

I love it but since I would need to rewire it to Sibelius 7 I bought a week later I did not find any tutorial about this procedure. There is something about Rewire in DP8 user guide at page 281 but it is not what I am looking for.

I tried to rewire Sibelius in Logic and it works (although when I compose I do not see notes on the score sheet, but that's should be an incorrect setting I should fix I think).

Basically I understood I should prepare a track into the project of DP8 (yesterday upgraded to 8.1) and then open Sibelius but I do not see Sibelius included in the plug-ins list. Please, be patient with me I never used and implemented Sibelius and DP before (neither Logic).

Could you please suggest me where I may find information or tutorials about that?

I also opened a ticket in Avid on 19 December but I have still not received any answer.

I have not installed Sibelius yet. I have version 7 sitting on my shelf, but the rate I'm moving, it will be version 8 before I get it installed! Nor have I used Sibelius in the past, but I've been very impressed when watching some of my friends using it.

Ok, so what is it you're trying to link together? Are you trying to get DP to play Sibelius's score? Are you trying to use sounds in DP to play when you play the score in Sibelius? I'm just trying to get some idea of the workflow you're trying to accomplish. What is your goal? (in non-technical terms; what are you trying to accomplish?)

I'll give it a shot if I can understand where you're going. My experience with Rewire is limited to Plogue Bidule. I think I had to have PB open and Rewire running before opening DP. There are others here with a lot more Rewire experience than I have, so maybe some of the experts will chime in.

sorry for my delay in responding, I expected to receive an email alert but I did not receive anything.

My need concerns rewire Sibelius7 in DP8 so I would be able to compose in DP8 track by track as I usually do and in the same time see Sibelius which is writing the notes into the Score. I do not compose from Sibelius but from the Sequencer (I compose just in MIDI).

That using DP8 and my own Sound Libraries in DP8. Sibelius has not to play any sound in the while (in order to avoid sound mix with Sibelius library and mine).

It is the first time for me in using Sibelius with a Sequencer. My ultimate aim is obtain the Score organized properly and when I have finished to compose forward the Full score (the Sibelius file) to a copyist that should correct the errors. This would be helpful for the copyist because he would find the Score set up and he should just fix errors and symbols.

I found the solution. My problem concerned basics actually. Setting DP8 at 32bit I can find into the AUX track instruments list Sibelius and now it is working. Now, I just have to learn how to set track by track in DP8 and Sibelius in order to start to compose with.
