Graphics bug with MOTU plugins (RESOLVED)

Post by Tripi »

This has been happening to me since upgrading to DP8, but I guess it finally got to me enough that I needed to ask. Anyone else experience this? The screenshot is actually across two different monitors. So, the white box is on my left monitor, and the graphics for the EQ are in my center monitor. The controls work on the graphics part, but I need to close it on the white box part. Happens every time, no matter how I add the plugin in. Any ideas?

Thanks, but I did search the boards, and read that thread before posting this. Unlike the other post, mine has only happened to me in DP8, and is a MOTU plugin.... in this case MW EQ. Also, it's not that the plugin is white, it's that it appears in two places at once: white box in one spot, graphics from the plugin in another. Confusing.

I couldn't see that in the pict clearly but do now. Weird. I've not had that issue but DP8 does have it's share of GUI bugs - yes, BUGS! AND MOTU MUST F... well, you know.

If that asking requires a yep or nope answer, then the answer is "yep". Some plugins and VIs are washed out-- wot were fine in DP 7.2x, I'd say ye.

That said (to ye), the solution for some plugins and VIs have been remedied by updates from the Plugin and/or VI developer.

I have a few plugin/VI bundles that are just not ready for 10.8 prime time. I'm a patient fellow, however. After half a century, being in a hurry makes me more tired than waiting for updates.

I'll just wait-- and will pass the time with a good football game and as many naps as are required.

I do have a fully functional combo of VIs, OSXs, and DAW versions that keep me alive. The key: back up and don't upgrade too quickly without being thoroughly informed.

I do like DP 8.01, though.

So, I guess I have solved my own problem, and I'll put the solution here for any future searches, or searchers from the future.....

I had made a folder quite a while ago with all of my DP7 MAS plugins in it. Just a way of organizing things. Totally forgot that it was still in my MAS folder, so when I installed DP8, it put the same plugins in the MAS folder (but outside of the old DP7 ones.... which were not overwritten). Anyways, I guess having both DP7 and DP8 versions in there was confusing things. I tossed the old DP7 version plugins, and everything is cool again.
