Re: Crash Report - Can someone tell me what this means?
What version of Kontakt are you using?
Also, what controllers or control devices were in use at the time of the crash?
It looks like a user interface mishap, but your sig also shows DP6.x in use. There were "issues" with DP6 which stumped a lot of users. I would first recommend getting into DP 7.2x or later where many of these issues were fixed quite handsomely. Troubleshooting DP6 could be a lesson in futility.

Re: Crash Report - Can someone tell me what this means?
Kontakt 5 with Steven Slate drums on three instances, also running BFD Eco one instance, Sonik Synth 2 one instance. The crash happened when I was in the Drum editor and selecting patches. Crashed 3 to 4 times. I was blaming it on my lack of ram (Mini 2g ram max_I know I need an upgrade) DP6 has been working pretty much flawless up until I started using the Drum editor. I am using a MOTU 828 FW interface and Axiom 49 controller with 4 external FW drives.
Thanks Frodo

I'm still pondering. I want to get to the bottom of this one big time.

Re: Crash Report - Can someone tell me what this means?
I've haven't been able to get any IK synth,SonikSynth2,Sampletank or Sampletron to pass validation in DP8.
I didn't read your crash report but as much trouble as I had with the IK synths and IK telling me to wait for ST3 so I can use these with DP8 I suspect SS2.
I'm also puzzled that I couldn't get these working at all and you have........

Re: Crash Report - Can someone tell me what this means?
Duh,just noticed you're using DP6.
I bought the DP6 upgrade & never opened the box or installed it,there were just too many reported issues.
I went from DP5 directly to DP7.

Re: Crash Report - Can someone tell me what this means?
Yeah. DP6 was somewhat of an "oopsie". I don't have it any more and can't do any tests in it.

Re: Crash Report - Can someone tell me what this means?
Yes, knowing the OSX version would help. 2GB used to be a luxury once upon a time, but MOTU recommended 2GB for DP7 as a starter kit before adding third party plugins. That is likely the benchmark for DP6 as well.dpg4macman wrote:Kontakt 5 with Steven Slate drums on three instances, also running BFD Eco one instance, Sonik Synth 2 one instance. If I'm not mistaken, at least some of those MINIs share memory for graphics and the system. On my laptop, OSX uses about 800MB, which is *almost* half of your resources before booting DP.
Some thoughts:
1. Try to avoid having a lot of windows open at once, and avoid running other apps concurrently with DP.
2. You might want to disable any plugins and VIs you never or rarely use, including all formats.
3. Depending upon your model of MacMini, there could be a RAM upgrade for you that could help, but I'm not 100% sure. It depends on the model, but it seems that this is possible on 2007 models and later. Companies like Other World Computing and Data Memory Systems have been offering RAM sticks for a lot of Macs that exceed Apple's official RAM max limits. It might be worth it to talk with a rep just to see what's possible or available for your machine. It could certainly serve as an affordable interim solution short of buying a newer model computer. My 2007 MacBookPro cites a max of 4GB, but I'm running 6GB with no problem.

Re: Crash Report - Can someone tell me what this means?
+1 @ what Frodo said,as always
2gig ram limitation is a big part of the problem,it doesn't help that you're using Slate which is resource demanding as well as DP6 which most DP users will say upgrade to at least 7 ASAP

Re: Crash Report - Can someone tell me what this means?
Thanks everyone for the responses - I've since started a new session/template using one instance of Kontakt 4 instead of 3 sessions of K5 and one BFD along with SampleTank 2. I set up my drum kits assigning The kick, snar and toms to different MIDI output channels on one Kontakt instance (I probably should have known this - right) I created a template for my drum editor and it is working fine now. I'm sure it was me having to much going on with limited resources. Oh yeah, I loaded SampleTank instead of SS2.
Thanks again,
mvh
