Well, demoing it was the straw that broke this camel's back...
I never demoed the PCM bundle before, because who needs to know that a reverb costing some two grand sounds great? As far 'regular' reverbs go, I have Valhalla Room, I have Lexicon impulses for Altiverb (both theirs and third party, plus Bricasti impulses), and I even have the Lexicon MXP. Nothing comes close to the PCM. It sounds so smooth as if it were working with a higher resolution. What a nice nice set of reverbs. And great interface - easy to use yet highly editable. And since I'm working on a score now that uses a good bit of reverb, I ain't waiting for no R2.
Deal done. Thanks Dan for the heads-up here! Wowee.

Wish I hadn't just purchased the 224 from UA about a month ago...
Not the same thing Phil, it's MORE!
You won't be redundant with the UAD 224, trust me. You need it all, if you can swing the budget.
Reverb is slowly coming back into popular music, but only those who know what they're doing with it will be successful using it.
DP11, 2019 16-Core Mac Pro, OS 14 Sonoma , 64GB RAM. RME HDSPe MADI FX to SSL Alphalink to SSL Matrix console, and multiple digital sub consoles. UAD Quad PCIe. Outboard stuff.
Just to clarify, the LXP is 100% redundant if you own PCM, correct? I've seen some statements to this effect but also some contrary information. Certainly MPX is different (and I own and love that plug).
I just ordered the PCM Total Effects Bundle, and am guessing there is no reason to add LXP. Strangely though, I felt the acoustic guitar demos at Lexicon's website sounded better and smoother as well as warmer with LXP than PCM, so it makes me wonder.
I won't have a chance to download these until tomorrow as I'm booted in 64-bit mode at the moment, meaning I can't access my work email via remote desktop as that only works in 32-bit mode. Tony Belmont's payment site only accepts Google Wallet for the discounted prices offered, and Google blocks my home email so I have to resort to my work email address.

Hearing the online demos did it for me too. They sound Amazing, I’m in.
Been waiting 20 min and no download link, maybe the guy’s asleep for the night.
Hmm.

Hiya M. Do not get the LXP bundle. While you may use a patch here and there, they are no where near the PCM native bundle in terms of how they make things sit right. (And yes, we owned a bunch of LXP stuff along with our big ticket Lex 300s, and PCM outboard racks.) So you made the right choice young grasshopper!
AMPGUI themes - Andy rocks!, 3 macs, MacPro 768GB ram, 16core OS12.7.5, DP11.32, all Waves, all SLATE,PSP, IK multimedia & Audioease plugs, all PAlliance, Softube, most all Orchestral Tools, tons of NI VI's all air Spitfire, all Audiobro, all Berlin, EW PLAY, LLizard, MachFive3, Kontakt5, Omnisphere, RMX, LASS, all Soundtoys, Lexicon AU's, melodyne and others I know am forgetting, cause I'm old...Also mucho outboard rigs, MTPs, DTP, antelope WC, and 4 control surfaces with Raven.

Agreed the PCM offers more, the PCM is the better choice.
This is what Michael Carnes says in a thread on GS the other day comparing the PCM vs LXP:
It's exactly a PCM96, except there are some small bugfixes in the plugins that never made it back to the PCM96.
LXP are less tweakable PCM algorithms minus Vintage Plate and Random Hall
That's accurate. Perhaps the biggest difference in the algorithms that remain is the fact that LXP has much less spectral control. There are fewer types of filters and less control of damping in the tail. With sufficient twiddling, you should be able to get every single LXP sound with a PCM, but it doesn't go the other way.

Wasn't referring to the online demos (tho I'm sure they're nice.) I demoed the plug-in here in my studio, using a demo license.
Thanks Kubi but I already bought it, don’t need the demo.
I have to let the thing sit today until I can pass by guiatr center for a damn ilok II.
I’ve been avoiding getting one of those for two yrs now..lol.
I finally got caught and backed into one..bummer.

That’s good. So I suppose I go onto i lok .com and suck them all off onto the website and send them all back down to the new ilok?
Or is there a way to directly transfer from one to the other if both are hooked up?
Also, is there something better about the ilok II?

You should be able to just move an authorization directly from one to another as long as they are both connected to the computer through the ilok.com site.

+1
James is correct.
I'd avoid using Firefox with the iLok authorization process,Safari or Chrome is preferable.
Ilok2 holds more authorizations and I think 1st iLok has some sort of 64bit compatibility issues.
