There must be a secret to what should be the simplest of tasks between a host and a VI, in this case, Omnisphere. All I want to do is have the individual channels of a multi respond to CC 7 in order to control volume. And nothing I do seems to make it work. I right click on the channel's level fader (in Omni's multi window) and select MIDI CC Learn. I then play back the MIDI track containing a CC7 event. It has no effect on the Omni fader. I then right click on fader again and select Show Learns, and it says "Notice: CC10." Well, I didn't want to deal with CC10; I wanted to deal with CC7. So I select "unlearn" and try again, and the same thing happens. By the way, whatever CC10 is controlling, it's not the panning, because the panning knob doesn't move either. What am I missing here?
In addition, I was given instructions to be able to automate an Omni parameter, such as filter resonance. Here's what the Omni tech said:
"Right click the filter resonance on part one and select Enable Host Automation. In DP, show that particular parameter in DPs automation lanes, and select Write. Play the sequence while it's writing, and move the resonance knob. That movement is now recorded as automation."
What does the 2nd sentence mean? Does DP (7.24) have something called automation lanes? I checked the manual index, and there's no mention of it. In a motunation index search, I saw reference to automation lanes as something wished for, but the implication was that DP didn't have them. So what do I make of the instructions from the Omni tech?
I know, lots of confusion here. Can anyone help? Thanks!!!
Richard
