DP 8.01 Bounce-To-Disk Failure

Post by leigh »

Hi All,

I started a couple of new projects with DP 8.01 and I'm loving it.

BUT: I have one project in DP 8.01 that won't BTD:

It's definitely not that the disk is too slow (7200 RPM Hitachi HDS721010CLA332). All other bounces work fine. This is a 44.1 KHz project and I have no problem with the disk when working on 96 KHz projects.

If I open it using DP 7.24 and reconfigure the VI outs, I can bounce it without problem. Other DP 8.01 projects have no problems. I've filed a MOTU Tech Link.

I tried starting with an empty project and loading in the sequence and had the same BTD problem so I think it must be in the sequence. Buffer is set to 2048.

I'd appreciate any suggestions on what else to try.

I've seen the first error a couple of times. It seemed to be the result of bounding to a file name that already existed when using a MAS plugin. Changing the name got around it. I hope you sent a bug report to MOTU because it should be asking you if you want to overwrite at that point, not failing.

MOTU tech support was able to reproduce the error and got it to bounce using the Safe plugins setting.

I spent some time doing plugin elimination and the culprit seems to be MOTU Ethno Instrument 2.0.2. Any instantiation of it, even without any samples loaded, causes the error.

Hopefully, they will have a solution.
