I opened another trouble ticket last week, but to date, its status is "unread". That was a week ago. Are MOTU staff on vacation all this week?
My 896 original is completely dead. It gets warm, but the display is dead and Windows can no longer detect it. I had it repaired in September of 2010 for a different problem, used it for 3 concerts since and now it's dead again. Not a good place to be in the middle of a concert season.

Re: Where is MOTU Tech Support?
I always deal with them via phone but I haven't had to do so for a hardware repair with them, have you tried calling tech support?
I know this kind of experience can be frustrating and it's a different company (SynthAx)but when I had my RME FF800 die a year or so ago (power supply)I set up the repair with them initially by phone and the turnaround was about a week.
Good luck,
KG

Have you tried calling them. Sometimes you can get through quickly if you start calling first thing in the morning. You are aware this site isn't run by MOTU, so there's not much that we can do for you here?

Re: Where is MOTU Tech Support?
Couldn't find a phone number for them and I'd long erased the phone messages from 2 years ago (I know Dave Roberts had called me and left a message back in 2010).. under their Contact link, is a means to leave a tech support ticket.
Anyway, I finally got a response, though not the response I was hoping for:
They no longer accept the 896 Original for repairs. They said the parts are not available. I'm a bit surprised, as this is only a ten year old model. I have lots of gear three times that age that I can still get parts for.
At any rate, it looks like if it's gonna get repaired, I'll have to do the repair myself. But that will require a schematic.
Does anyone know where I can get a schematic for this discontinued orphaned product?

Oh... okay. I should have posted it. It's actually right on their support page: http://www.motu.com/techsupportmweiss wrote:Couldn't find a phone number for them and I'd long erased the phone messages from 2 years ago (I know Dave Roberts had called me and left a message back in 2010).. under their Contact link, is a means to leave a tech support ticket.

16,600 watts of driving surround sound probably moved it off screen. I know that would lift my Mac pro off the floor!James Steele wrote: Oh... okay. I should have posted it. It's actually right on their support page: http://www.motu.com/techsupport
