Really? I just now saw this. I've been using two displays forever. So you can actually lower latency settings by putting every DP window on one display? Or are you saying DP was more snappy?tommypenngotti wrote:ok so I put all of DP 8 on one screen and it's totally fine , move a mixer or even one insert effect to the 2nd screen and all the movement gets noticeably slower- is my vid card unable to handle DP on (2) cinema displays = sluggish
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512 MB
thanks

That's very odd. It doesn't seem like there's that much going on that your video card would have trouble with. So what are you doing now, using one monitor?
Wow. I would say I'm shocked but I'm not. If you think about it 512MB isn't very much these days with hungry 64-bit apps, that do use quite a bit of display resource, and .. does anyone know if DP uses the GPU? Can't remember if DP was written to take advantage of Quartz GL, if only for movies - I have no idea.tommypenngotti wrote:nightwatch wrote:Really? I just now saw this. Yes , If I consolidate everything to one display DP moves perfectly fine. Move the mixer over to the right display , everything slows down on both screens . Going to try a new vid card on Friday . No idea why its doing this and Motu tech support said they have no idea either !
I don't use two displays, but I use multiple "Spaces" as virtual displays. In that sense, I'm usually running the equivalent of 5 displays at once.nightwatch wrote:I wonder if Shooshie is having that problem with his keyboard issue. I mean, I wonder is they're related? Shoosh, if you're reading this, do you use two displays?

I HAVE noticed that if I've been working in one display without trouble, and if I then spread windows out into the other virtual displays, or Spaces, then I'll start getting the problems. I'm going to experiment today with running no other Spaces.
Shoosh
Ah, OS X's Spaces. It's the Finder on steroids.tommypenngotti wrote:Shooshie wrote:I don't use two displays, but I use multiple "Spaces" as virtual displays.
