G4 - no power - was I asleep????

Post by jimbyjoe »

hi all,

ok i'm running a G4 867 with tiger. the other night i put it to sleep (possibly a regular mistake i make), but a little while later I turned it (along with other appliances) off at the wall...

now when i go to turn the G4 on, the power button lights up and quickly fades off. I've tried holding it for 5 minutes, tried disconnecting everything etc etc etc.

sorry if this has already been addressed on the forum somewhere, but does anyone have any ideas? it may be a power supply thing, don't know. no it doesn't turn on at all, but the power light comes on and fades off straight away. is it still subconsciously asleep??
thanks all,
j

Have you looked at the preference settings ( energy savings )?

When you "powered off" by unplugging at the wall System X did not have a chance to shut the system properly.

You could also try a "safe boot" startup and then immediatly doing a restart.
