1 x 27" monitor or 2 x 24" ?

Post by OftheSeven »

I've seen the new crop of Korean made 27" IPS monitors for sale with 2560x1440 resolutions. Anyone use them?

Don't know if 2 x 24" monitors (1920x1080) is better than the 1 x 27" and specifically for use w/ DP7. Would 2560x1440 be too small?

How old are your eyes...

I went for two 24" IPS displays and am enjoying them.

Same here except I have two Viewsonic 24" on mounts that swivel 360 degrees. Lovely.

It probably comes down to your own workflow. If you like to have a bunch of plugin windows open at the same time then two monitors is probably the way to go. A single larger monitor doesn't really help dealing with multiple UIs like dual monitors. At work a lot of people use dual monitor setups for engineering work but I prefer one large monitor mainly because I don't like how Windows handles dual monitors--you never seem to know where dialogs will open And this app acts differently than that one--I see it all the time when I go to their cubes--that or I see one blank desktop another that they are actually using. With Logic on my 24" iMac I find myself wishing that I could move some plugin windows off to the side but I just end up closin them and openin them when I need them.
