Ultralite and Ableton Live - Basic Setup ?s

Hi guys

Have very recently bought an ultralite and trying to get it configured into my Live studio. Would be really grateful for some pointers on the fundamentals!

- I have a usb connection from my macbook to the ultralite.
- Main outs go straight to my monitors.
- Little Phatty inputs to audio in 3 (mono)[/list][/list]

That's it really.

The issue i have is that audio from the moog is going through to the proper channel in Live but is also going straight to the monitors. Obviosuly I dont want that - I want everything mixed in live.

It does this with without Live running - suggests that somewhere there is an option to stop it monitoring straight to my monitors when live is running?

Incidentally - id like to use the same monitors etc to play music from itunes when live isn't running - thats working fine at the moment.

Ive tried changing the monitor option on the motu for the input. No effect.

I really just wanted to check that I had the basics right and that main out was the the riht output for my set up.

Hey Pongo, if you want to monitor everything through Live you just need to turn all of your CueMix faders down. These faders only affect the direct monitoring levels so they won't affect levels in Live. Direct monitoring is used if your setup (Live) has too much latency/delay to play effectively. If you are always monitoring through Live you can pretty much set CueMix once and forget it unless you are using the effects. I have a non-fx Ultralite so I don't normally run CueMix because I minitor through Logic.
