How to connect an external mic preamp to Motu 2408 MKII
Sorry for that newb question. I am using Motu 2408 Mk2 as an audio interface and converter, I am planing to buy a vintech 73i mic pre. Is it possible to connect the output of vintech 73i to 2408 analog input directly (at the back of the unit, there have 8 balanced 1/4" analog inputs) ? or any other suggestions? Thanks

Yes. Most preamps plug into the Line inputs.

What Mike said. Definitely use a balanced connection if at all possible.

Somebody advised that I can connect the Vintech X73i to the mic input of my Tascam DM24 but switched off the phantom power and turn the gain to zero. Is it a good idea or will it cause distortion?
