DP8 64 BIT and OSX 10.6.8

Can I take full advantage of the DP8 64 BIT operation using OSX 10.6.8?

I am unable to install Lion or Mountain Lion.

Please let me know.

Anyhow thanks. Great news. I thought 64 bit was exclusive to mountain lion.

You may, however, loose any 32 bit plugs you might have.
