REPEAT:

All I can tell you is it's working for me. The location is different however.

Look in this directory:

<Your Hard Drive Name>/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/MOTU Audio Export/

You should have three files in that directory:

Core Audio Export.bundle
LAME Audio Export.bundle
libmp3lame.dylib

Since mine is working I'm posting an archive of libmp3lame.dylib here that you can unarchive and drop into that directory and it should work.

http://motunation.com/files/libmp3lame.dylib.zip

If you don't have the other files let me know, but the DP8 installer should put them there I think.

Thanks, that's great. Seems pretty straightforward, or at least as straightforward as getting LAME working in DP has ever been.

DC here!

i386 or x86 usually refers intel 32 bit architecture
wssv3sp2-kb953338-x86-fullfile-en-us = 32 bit intel

x86_x64 or x64 - refers to 64 bit intel architecture
wssv3sp2-kb953338-x64-fullfile-en-us = 64 bit intel

if you see weird stuff like this
amd64 or similar its usuall 64 bit intel - ymmv :)

RIght, that just occurred to me in another thread. Fixing one messes up the other. The process described by dlx could be put in an Applescript for those that need to switch back and forth.

It seems to take longer for DP to process a file into MP3 than it does itunes?
Why?

I have no idea why, other than the obvious, but the same thing applies comparing DP to Logic when it comes to bounces, merges, etc. Logic and iTunes are probably sharing some code here.

Doesn't seem slower to me but clearly it needs work as movie options aren't appearing in QT bounces. Then again I'm still adjusting to an 8 core so I may simply be ignorant of the speed difference.

iTunes is merely converting.
DP is bouncing all your tracks, effects, and automation in addition to converting to mp3.

No bro, I don't work like that. :D Bouncing in DP? Bite your tongue, gawd forbid. I NEVER trust DP for such things. I record mixes directly into a stereo track at full, 24 bit resolution. I then listen to a part of the wav file to make sure I routed all parts to the bus and didn't get fooled hearing somthing that was routing to out 1-2 instead of the stereo track. I then go into the audio bin and export as Mp3. It is that process that takes a long time, just exporting wav to mp3.

To each his own, but I've never had a problem going direct to LAME mp3. I've never had a dropped track, dropped measure, or dropped effect or automation. The result is just like listening to the mix. The stories I hear about those dropouts are very surprising to me.
