how to apply a setting change to multiple tracks

Post by cwalcott »

i'm trying to figure out how to apply a setting change to a selection of tracks.

say i have 8 audio tracks and each track has 2 takes. i want to select all 8 tracks and change them all from take 1 to take 2. or i want to select all tracks and change the inputs from whatever they are set to, to none.

what happens is when i select a set of tracks and change the take, it only changes the one i'm clicking on, not the set.

is there a way to do this?

Grouping should do it.

No problem. Look into it. You can turn it on and off temporarily and more. It's worth reading the whole chapter in the manual.

Temporary groups:
• Hold down the W key while you perform an action, and it will perform that action on all visible tracks.
• Hold down the T key, and it will work on all selected tracks.

You may have to set the group actions for temporary groups in the Groups Window.

If the W and T keys are not working for temporary groups in DP8, restart DP8. There is a bug currently in DP8 because of which the keyboard randomly loses focus for various commands. Hopefully, MOTU will be addressing that in an update, soon.
