Stylus RMX Question
Hi all,
I've hit a knowledge gap in Stylus RMX and the way it interacts with DP7.
Basically, what I'm trying to to is to route channels 1, 2 and 3 of the Stylus RMX mixer individually to three mono tracks in DP. At the moment I have the three tracks loaded as a groove into the RMX mixer, and when I hit the mixer's play button, all three tracks play together. Then I set up an RMX multi MIDI input channel in DP, so that when I hit a single note on my MIDI keyboard, it activates the whole 3 part groove in the RMX mixer on channels 1 through 3. So far, so good.
My objective is to put DP into multi-record mode, and assign three mono input busses so that when I hit record in DP, and hit play in RMX, I'll end up simultaneously recording all 3 RMX tracks as audio in DP.
I think my confusion arises from three pieces of the puzzle that I don't quite understand:
1. The RMX mixer channels are numbered 1 through 8, which I think relate to MIDI channels, but I'm not certain.
2. Each RMX mixer channel has a drop-down menu of output channels marked A, B, C etc. I don't understand what these mean, or what they relate to in DP, if anything,
3. When I create a new input bus in DP, RMX shows up on the list, but I can't figure out which busses relate to which channels on the RMX mixer. I've tried all the combinations I can think of, but so far no joy. Although I have three audio channels in DP enabled, I end up recording only one track. I'm sure that when I get the routing sorted out it'll work fine.
Anyone know how to cook this turkey? As always, and help greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Geoff

PS: The groove library I'm using is pretty amazing, and I think it's going to be pretty useful.
Go to You Tube and search for a video called Pop Rock Guitars from Nine Volt Audio.

Re: Stylus RMX Question
The channels 1-8 in RMX are, as you guess MIDI channels.
It is the Output A-H that are audio output and correspond to RMX audio channels 1 to 16 in stereo pairs.
After selecting them in the RMX mixer, assign the RMX audio output in DP'S Bundle window, in the Instruments tab. If you need to create an input for DP, to it there with the Add or Add Multiple buttons. There are other ways to achieve the same, but this one has the advantage of being visual.

Thanks groove,
That's making more sense. I'll let you know how it goes. Wish me luck!

Good luck!
Pop Rock guitars saved me a couple of times in a rush. I have the processed and the direct library and end up using the direct one as it's more versatile in pair with Guitar Rig or Amplitube.

Re: Stylus RMX Question
Hi groove,
I set up the RMX bundles like this:

and the DP7 input busses like this:

Does that look right? Because it kinda looks as though it all should connect, but the 3 RMX channels aren't channels communicating.

UPDATE:
For some inexplicable reason the gremlins have capitulated and the setup is working like a dream.
Thanks groove - you've saved me a lot of anguish, gnashging of teeth, and a lot of wasted time. Much appreciated.
Cheers,
Geoff
