I was in Mountain Lion hell today! I got ML and ordered DP8 plus Adobe CS6 Production Suite, I installed ML on a separate drive and left the SL drive alone, thank god! After down loading CS6 I had to verify via the net, I could not up load a Jpg from my ML drive to the net; pizza wheel of death! I went and down loaded Onyx and it froze upon opening, had to force quit Safari and Onyx install, after that the finder would not work. I tried to open a file in Photoshop CS6 but the window for opening files froze and once more pizza wheel of death. I gave up and opened SL all works fine here, I am installing CS6 now have my verification. I have never had so much trouble with any previous operating systems. What do you think is wrong? I will try a repair permissions and see what happens.

That's my biggest fear! Also I still have a couple of critical apps that are still not ready for the big cat.
I'm so tempted to do exactly what you did but fear I'll just be spending $$$ for the OS just to kill a couple if hours or days only to find that I'm back in SL.
This is IMO a much worse transition than going from OS 9 to OS X.0.
Thanks for the reminder Tom. Hope you get it sorted out or at least don't loose too much time and hair in the process.
Thanks MLC, I installed CS6 on the SL drive and it works good. I have the SL drive set to 32 bits right now via the terminal. I think I will go back to 64 as every thing worked well with it set to 64 bits. Dp and all just fine with 64. I should get DP8 by the end of the week, you know where I will be spending some time.

Were you booted in this separate drive when you tried to install CS6 onto the new boot drive?
The correct answer is Yes.
And, yes, it's a very good idea to repair permissions after installing ML. Next, you must check software updates - without this, Java will not run. Also, find and set your printer, download the current drivers.
Then install CS6.

Yes I was on ML when I installed CS6, it installed but I could not use on line verification as the file I needed could not be up loaded. Thank good ideas, I will do them. CS6 is rocking on SL. I set SL to boot in 64 bits again.
Maybe we need a smilies that show some one hitting them selfs with a PFD. Or one that says "RTPFD".

I have a DVD and a Blu-ray drive in my Mac, the Blu-ray appears to be a problem in Mt. Lion.
I am trying to figure out what drive update to install. It is a BD-RW BRD 206D and there are 2 driver up dates for the 206. When it f"s up it crashes the finder in ML.Things are working good on SL, thank goodness.

No problems here with ML and CS6. Make sure everything is updated and remember that java now doesn't come with ML so you need to download it separately (not sure how to do that - one of my installers needed it and offered to download it for me, which was very kind and considerate of it).
