Also, I would love some explicit info on how easy it will be to keep DP 7 and 8 in the same computer on the same system drive?
That way, if DP 8 proves problematic for a certain file, I can revert back which will make me more likely to try out DP 8 sooner.

It's still there. Never left. Open a project and choose "Time Formats" from the "Setup" menu or use Cmd+Opt+T to open it. The rest should be easy to figure out. :)

Fingers crossed that UAD and NI will work with it...
hi Dave,
NI is 64bit already,UA is still 32bit.
I spoke to UA earlier this afternoon, they're closer to the 64bit release but not quite there yet.
The person I've spoken to many times and trust, says its in the testing stage so not too far away but it's not totally ready to be ported for 64bit and released.
I guess in the meantime we can run DP8 in 32bit mode.

The other news I confirmed with MOTU we will all be eligible for the Windows version once it's released.
This is great news!! Both the Universal Audio UAD info and the Windowzzzz info :D Thanks a lot!! :woohoo:

Went to order mine from the MOTU website but it redirected me to order from music track in the UK. So placed my order, but the bloke said he will not be getting any in for 10days, so looks like a 2 week wait. Can't wait!!

I was stupid enough that when they showed DP8 at NAMM I sold my old video interface and purchased a HD Express which has been completely useless waiting on DP8.

So I have been without external video all year, guess I jumped the gun!!

Can't wait to get this!!

Wow, this looks great. They've incorporated the things I like best about Logic (track folders/swipe comping/etc.), kept or improved the things I miss about DP and added some organizational stuff that makes good sense. I guess I'l have to put my order in!

Darn, I see that Motu is still using UPS to Canada. There are more reasonable options that are just as reliable. Recently had a great USPS / Purolator experience with a large package from USA - Canada from BH in NYC. . All the costs, taxes, duties, and "brokerage" fees were clear and up front, and the delivery was quick and trackable. This has not been my experience with UPS who have charged me brokerage fees on free updates.

I can't believe how excited I am about this.
Now I have to play hostage and ransom at the boarder with UPS.
I wish they would use post.

I hear ya I never have a problem USPS or Fedx.
I've even tried expedited with UPS but they still hold it hostage at the boarded and ask for more money.

How much more visible do you want it? Folders are right in the menubar, Comping has it's own tool. DP invented Take Comping back at version 6. Track folders since version 5. Welcome back Jim, but seriously... no wonder you switched to Logic, it seems like you were using DP4.5

Just received my UPS tracking # by email. Should be at the door this Friday.

Ditto for using UPS; they charge an arm and a leg for brookeage fee and are a pain to deal with.

I've had the same experience with UPS. Fees to clear an item across a free trade border, tax on the fee. A fee to calculate the tax, and tax on that, and so on.

BUT- I just got MachFive 3 via UPS, and the total tax and fees amounted to 7.5% of the purchase price, so maybe things have changed. And it arrived exactly when they said it would.

I ordered my copy today. Really looking forward to trying out the liveroomB and the dynamic EQ plugins; I think they're going to really help my bass guitar tracks.
