Since installing the latest driver version (55333) on my Win 7 machine (MOTU unit is 8Pre) I now have an entry in Task Manager showing a permanently-running process, "motuDNSResponder.exe". Anyone know what it does and why it's there/running, even when the 8Pre is not connected?
TIA for any thoughts.
Jeff
What is "motuDNSResponder.exe"?

I think it's part of the new OSC control for CueMix. I believe any mDNSresponder is part of the Bonjour spec - Apple's peer DNS resolver. It would allow MOTU devices to be seen on a network.

Many thanks for that!
I did wonder whether it might be something to do with this new OSC (though for me it's "irrelevant" since it would appear that this does not work with the 8Pre - though it does with the 4Pre - and, anyway, I'm one of those dinosaurs who doesn't even own an IPad.)
