It's not all that complicated and if you want both 64 bit and older plugs, it's well worth it. I'm very happy with PB.

Why can't all the developers make the transition in a timely manner like MOTU did? ;-)
Sorry. I'm sure this has probably been over ad nauseum, but does this mean 32bit plugins (SoundToys, UAD1 and many more) won't show up in DP8?

Correct: If your running DP in 64bit Kernel all plugs and VI's must be 64bit or you can use Bidule or VE Pro.
I guess we can also run DP in 32bit Kernel render the MIDI to audio and switch to the 64bit Kernel.

You don't need to run the OS in 32 bit mode in order to run DP8 in 32 bit mode. Get info on the app and check "run in 32 bit mode".

Hmm. I'm still not clear on this. Sorry… I do know that 64bit apps run fine when booted into 32bit mode (the only option for my system) and access all the RAM a 64bit app should. Are you saying I WILL be able to use my 32bit plugins on my 32bit-kernel system?

Dave! Please don't go yet. What about 32bit plugins? Will they work with DP8? Is so, will DP need to be in 32bit mode? Can you clear this up? Thanks!

I can confirm that if you set DP8 to run in 32 bit mode, it will load all your 32 bit plug-ins.

Thanks for the informative reply Mr.Magic ;-)

Any idea when the Windows versions will ship?
& will we get Windows install discs as well?

It would be cool in case we want to (gulp) try it on a PC.....

That's good news (and what I needed to know, too). Thanks!

On the Mac side, OS requirement of 10.6.8 or later. So no push to upgrade OSX for those who need to or want to stay with SL.

FWIW, I'll be sure to let you guys know how P-Bidule works sending (at least) 32 bit VIs to a 64 bit DP.

Happy to run in 32-bit mode until the developers catch up. Still have no need
to run 64-bit anything....then again, I don't do any scoring work.

You can wait behind for the sake of the plugs that aren't going to be updated to 32 bit if you wish, but I don't think MOTU is going to adopt a bridge for orphaned 32 bit plug-ins. I may just get it and run it in 32-bit mode.
