Can't Hear Vocal in Mix While Recording (Cuemix, Ultralite)

hi there, i feel like an idiot but here goes. . .

when i record a vocal track (or others) i can't hear the vocal in the monitor mix (headphones.)

i'm still getting used to my Ultralight Mk3 Hybrid, or more specifically using Cuemix FX (1.01.10) and oh, of course, DP 7.24, after using a real basic 828 mk1 for many years without cuemix.

i'm still getting my head around cuemix being so powerful and all that but it's just to confusing for my older adult brain. anyhow.

i can get a decent signal to record and can bring the monitor level down so that it's close enough and it record fine. but where the simple switch or button to press that will allow me to hear what i'm recording.

yes, actually, i discovered that i had the track muted by mistake. go to the Mixes tab (between input and output tabs.) un mute as needed. yellow is muted, black is unmated.

i got help by calling motu tech support who patiently took my through figuring out what was up. but try this and see if it helps.

i still seem to be not getting enough monitoring volume when recording. i have to bring all my instruments down to hear enough vocal in headphones. but at least i'm not muted! good luck. -db
