This is about MachFive 3 running in DP 7. I'm missing some fundamental concept in the interface.
I want to take a single part and patch it into an external bus so I can apply my DP plugins to that part (and only that part) while I run the rest of the MachFive parts to a separate V-rack bus. I cannot figure out how to do this. I have no trouble routing that entire MachFive instance, but I don't understand how to break a single part out of MachFive and get it into DP. I don't think I need the internal MachFive busses to do this; am I wrong?
I don't understand where the part ouputs (within the main window under each part, the list that says Main Out, Out 2, Out 3, etc) are going. Why can't I route them to DP's bus list? Where do these outputs show up in DP? How do I access these part outputs in DP? I used to do this in MachFive 2, but they changed the part outputs in this latest version.
I need a step-by-step method on how to do this. I can't believe something so basic isn't explained, which leads me to believe I'm misunderstanding how Mach5 and DP communicate.
thanks to anyone who can help!

Re: getting a MachFive 3 output into a aux bus
No problem - here's one way to do it...
From the main interface window on M5, look at the part list on the left side. From the part you wish to re-route, click where it says "Main Out" and select a different output destination (for example, "Out 2"). See the M5 manual on pages 65 (figure 9-2) and 66 for more about this.
In the DP tracks overview window, find the aux bus (I'll assume you set up a stereo aux) you created for your M5 track and click on the "input" column. Select "New Stereo bundle", and choose "MachFive3-1 3-4"
You are done!
The M5 manual index doesn't explicitly state this, but its straightforward that M5 Out 2 = DP input "Machfive3-x 3-4", M5 Out 3 = DP input MachFive3-x "5-6", etc., where x is the number of the M5 instance in your project.
You can rename busses in the bundles window and save it as part of a template to make things more clear for future projects.
Finally, an aux track will work fine, but you may want to route M5 to an instrument track instead of an aux - just so you have the record, automation and solo buttons available as a default...
