Thanks for the clarification. It's not yet 7AM and I'm ony iPhone so I may not have completely understood the full picture.

The solution to select mono was in the "Bounce To Disk…" dialog box. It was just a matter of choosing a non-Core Audio File Format and then suddenly extra pop-up windows and a bunch of additional options became available. Not so difficult once figured out, but a little confusing if you haven't.
I just did this very thing last night. I did set my master fader to fold down to mono, then bounced to disk mono as well. I'm not sure I needed to set the master fader to mono to do so, but it didn't hurt anything.

Two things to note; first, be sure to choose bouncing to mono with a -3.5 dB correction (this is one of the choices in the pull down menu) otherwise you just get a straight sum and you will get clipped audio unless you run at very low level.

Second, remember that if you open and replay your bounced track back inside the same project it came from (as a soundbite or as a track), whatever processing you have active on your master fader will in effect be applied again - so disable it to hear the bounced track correctly. Otherwise you will be scratching your head wondering what the heck happened to your limiter (as I did for a few minutes there!)

Isn't there any way to bounce a mono file to a mono file? I tried setting the Master to built-in 1 (mono) and panning to the center and using bounce to disk, but I still ended up with a stereo file.
DP 7.24 here.

I believe you also need to set the output of the mono track to a mono bundle, not just pan it center in a stereo bundle.
