ULTRALITE MK3 ISSUES

Post by Noods27 »

Can someone please help?

I'm getting no love from motu with this issue so here goes.

I have just purchased Motu's Ultralite MK3 andI have a Toshiba Laptop i7 16GB Ram running on Windows 7 64 Bit. I can not get any sound in or out of my laptop.

I have installed all the latest drivers from Motu and have installed latest drivers from Toshiba.

When selecting the motu Main outs as my default playback I can not get any sound even from an MP3.

I am using it with Ableton 8 which works fine with my laptop's internal sound card but when the Motu is selected is just slows right up and pretty much crashes!!

I can get sound into the Motu audio interface and straight through to the speakers and I can see the levels on the LCD screen on the unit. I have also unmuted all the channels in CueMixFX.

I am completely stumped? I have read many other posts with similar problems and tried what they have said but I am getting nothing.

Does any one please have any idea's

Cheers

I'm on a Mac, but it sounds like either the MOTU Audio Console software is not set up correctly or your pc's system audio is not set to use the ultralite as your audio interface.

Sometimes if you dont power the ultralite on before launching dp, then dp will default to the sustem audio too, at least on a mac, so make sure to power the ultralite up before launching DP

I suppose the ultralite could be defective, but that would be my last assumption.

Check the software settings; it's page 27 in the ultralite manual (windows side)

Hope this helps you.

HI

Thanks for the help.

I alway turn my laptop off plug the mk3 in then power up the laptop. When the laptop is on I then turn the mk3 on before opening any software. I'm assuming by DP u mean the software cuemix fx?

As for setting it up on my pc im generally just going into control panel where my sound options are and selecting the Motu Main outs instead of my computers sound card.

All good i'll keep plugging away at it

Any other suggestions welcome

Cheers

Ha ha sorry, DP is Digital Performer, my favorite DAW, soon to be available for Windows with version 8.

I meant that when I launch my DAW, it expects to see my ultralite connected and running, and if not, it defaults to the Mac internal audio drivers.
