MachV with other VI,s , not so good here

Post by apanacci »

Hey guys, when I add other VI,s in my sequences with MachV it acts wierd, crashes when I load some sounds, messes up the other VI,s. Also when I reopen the file the Multi does not load. Yhings get sluggish. Very frustrating. I have Kontact V , SSD drums , Ivory. Any suggestions, thanks. MacPro 8 core 24 gigs of ram 10.6.8

You can have a brazillion gigs of RAM but DP (if that's you DAW) has a 4GB limit until DP8 is out. Adding more VIs will obviously consume more RAM and when they're running under DP or other 32 bit app, you run outta RAM gas and fast.

Try the demo of Plogue Bidule (the demo is free) and see if running the VIs outside DP helps. Also, the standalone version of MachFive 3 is, I believe, 64 bit already.

If you go the PB demo route, be prepared for a slight learning curve. But that app has some amazing features aside from running more VIs.
