828mkiii with cue mix reverb problem

Post by waddo »

Hi all,

No matter what I try I cannot get a channel in cuemix to be completely dry. I go to the channel tab and set Reverb send to zero, but I can still hear reverb in that channel.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Cheers

Check your mix buses and outputs - the master for each mix bus has a send and each output has a send also. Maybe the input is assigned to a mix bus that has a send active. If all else fails and you don't want any reverb you can always turn it off.

Thanks for the reply but it didn't help.

I would like to have reverb only my Nord Lead 3. Is that so difficult????

The whole thing doesn't make sense to me:
I click the INPUTS tab, change the focus to each channel and with the channel tab on the right section choses, put reverb send to zero for all of them. Still I hear reverb.

Now i click the MIXES tab. Again reverb is set to zero on the right channel tabs. Still I hear reverb.

Finally the OUTPUTS, every channel has reverb at zero. Still I hear reverb.

Are there any on line videos explaining how to do this? Or any one reading here willing to share screen on ichat and show me?

I read the PDF manual but really it seems useless to me, much like the digital performer manual printed on PAPER!

Cheers.

You don't need to change the focus. Just make sure all the sends along the bottom of the inputs tab are down.

This is where I think your problem might be. Are you checking the send on all 8 mix buses? If not, Option-Click the send on your mix bus 1 fader on the right and it will set the other 7 behind it to the same - I assume you want it off. That may fix it.

If each send is off in the outputs, you should be OK here. The sends on inputs and outputs are pretty straight forward. Again, my guess is one of the other mix buses. If it's not, then I don't have any other ideas. With every send off, you shouldn't have any reverb, then you'd just bring up the send on the Nord input. It's possible I'm misreading the issue.

Thanks very much for trying to help me out. Finally it was the mixes tab that was indeed the problem: the bus 1 reverb send was on, which is the universal send, and hence the problem. Your comments forced me to look carefully at the mixes tab and I completely missed this.

So thanks again.
