Hi
I´m connecting an MOTU 8pre preamp via ADAT to my MOTU 828mk3 interface. Regardless of sampling rate, I´m getting the signal comming from the 8pre 43 samples late compared to signals recorded via 828mk3´s line inputs. I´m not multimiking, I´m sending the same signal to both preamps through a spliter in my patch bay. I have done many test with different sample rates, optical cables, etc. and all the time it´s the same 43 samples of latency between both devices.
Is this a normal behaviour when connecting through ADAT?
Thanks.
Ed
8pre and 828mk3 43 samples late via ADAT. Why?

Interesting. Are they clocked together? I wonder if these units use the same converter chip...?
Practical Advice: 43 samples ain't a whole lot. Less than 1 millisecond at 44.1k. Avoid splitting a coincident stereo pair of mics between the units and you'll never hear the delay.
