Ultralite volume knob stopped functioning
Hi,
I have an Ultralite problem. Main volume knob on Ultralite first generation no longer works for controlling volume. Headphone knob still works. I also can't figure out how to maybe use Cuemix to control main out volume , if this is possible as a workaraound? Knob still functions as on/off switch. The first time I turn it after turning unit on, it will show me where the volume is set but on subsequent turns , nothing happens.I've tried re doing latest firmware. This problem occurs whether or not it is connected via firewire to the computer and whether or not ultralite is powered via computer or wallwart. I'm hoping this is fixable without sending it back for repairs as this involves costly border crossing shipping and "brokerage" fees. Any ideas?
Thanks for any advice.

Re: Ultralite volume knob stopped functioning
Is there a way to control the ultralite main volume output via cuemix?

Re: Ultralite volume knob stopped functioning
Hi. The volume knob also stopped functioning on my ultralite mk3, and i haven't made any recent upgrades to anything. Also a couple months before this happened, i lost control of the gain inputs from the front panel. Any news? i tried a different firewire cable and a restart to no avail.

Re: Ultralite volume knob stopped functioning
My personal experience was that nothing helped BUT it did mysteriously start working again BUT then it stopped and then yes again and then no etc. This would be over a period of days or weeks and sometimes, I'd get stuck with an unworkably low volume. So I finally wised up and the next time it started to work, I turned it up to max and now I never touch it in case it gets stuck at a too low volume. I control the volume from the computer volume slider on the top right of the window. Inelegant but it works ok like this. I'll be happy to get a new interface when the right one comes along. I wish that Cuemix would control it but for some reason, that doesn't seem to be in the design, or at least nobody's been able to clue me in.

Check your ultralite manual - I believe that cuemix can control every function accessible through the hardware controls except maybe enabling a pad. Good luck!

Re: Ultralite volume knob stopped functioning
Thanks. That would be lovely. Cuemix will control many things but as far as I know, it will not control the "main volume" which is the knob that failed.

I'm not in the studio right now, so I might be way off, but on the cuemix output page there is a monitor volume knob on the upper right that controls the master output for whichever mix you select - maybe we are talking about two separate things but give that a try. Hope it works out for you.

Re: Ultralite volume knob stopped functioning
This is to confirm what crduval stated is correct, except in my case, the monitor knob in the upper right of cuemix is only affecting my main outs, regardless of which mix is in "focus" on the outputs tab.
Don't get me wrong cause I'm definitely, definitely relieved that I'm back to unity gain, but my headphone out is stuck really low. But i found a work-around in my DAW.
Bottom line is this seriously compromises the creative phase of my work flow when it comes time to track and record different synth patches. Reaching for the value knob is much faster than cue mixing it. Unless there's a way to MIDI map to cuemix. Even if there was I still couldn't cause my old machine's CPU doesn't bode well with cuemix opened in the background.
I'll get in touch with tech support when the weekend is over and will report back with anything useful. Thanks 'yall.
