Faulty PCI drivers?

Post by Brian Hunter »

I have a PC that MOTU can't get to work with my 2408mk3. It used to work fine with driver 1.6.9.2. When I decided to upgrade to driver 4.0.54199 I started having major problems. MOTU tech support told me I needed to upgrade my motherboard BIOS. I told them I didn't like that idea but was assured it was necessary. Fine. I upgraded the BIOS but the new driver still didn't work. Fine. Time to revert back to the old driver. Not fine.

Now the old driver doesn't work either. Some time with tech support and we get the new driver working, but with only 4 inputs enabled at a time. If I enable more than 4 inputs, the computer hangs. I'm told to send some dmp files & wait. I find this unacceptable. Has anybody seen anything like this before?

I am having the same problem. I have a 828 MKII USB, a 1296 and 2 2408 MK III's. The 828 and the 1296 are recognized and I can plug the 1296 into any of the PCIe audiowire ports and it is recognized but no matter what I do the 2408's are not recognized. I am running W7 64 bit on quad core 8400 motherboard. Getting very frustrated !

Try this guys, open the MOTU PCI Audio Setup application and initiate a refresh under the "File" menu (that's where it is in the Mac version). See if that helps. I've been having some problems on the Mac side since the driver update and the issue seems to occur primarily with those of us that have multiple interfaces connected to the PCI card. For me, once I initiate the refresh, I'm able to get things going but I certainly shouldn't have to do this.

I've forwarded this information to my Rep at MOTU (I teach for a reseller) and they seemed to indicate that they're aware of this. Hopefully there will be a fix soon because its getting old.
