MOTU audio hardware ans OS 10.8

Post by papageno »

Has anyone tested MOTU FW and/or USB audio interfaces with Mountain Lion?

The only piece of information I could find was roaringapps.com site, which states: doesn't work. Somebody has posted a note there that Motu kernel extension crashes the system. No more details there...

Edit: after writing the post above (it is morning here) I checked Motu site again and the following statement has been added to 10.8 compatibility:
Current versions of all MOTU software and hardware drivers appear to be compatible with Mountain Lion

I have installed supposed working drivers for my Ultralite mk3 hybrid on 10.8 and OS X crashes constantly. I recommend you to wait for the next drivers release.

Thank you for your answer. I will definitely wait until Motu has posted new interface drivers.
I own Ultralite mk3 Firewire version and I need it daily for my work.

I have also read about problems with iLok and 10.8 but that is another issue completely.

I'm currently typing whilst kicking myself repeatedly on the rear. Upgraded to ML and now my MBP doesn't recognise Traveler Mk III in any way, shape or form. Anyone got this problem too?

OK - sorry folks but the ML update was a red herring. Neither my Mac pro nor MacBook pro are able to see this Traveler Mk 3. If I unplug the FW cable from the Traveler and connect it to my Ultralite Mk 3, everything springs into life immediately; MOTU audio setup and Cumix FX. Do I have a knackered unit, or am I missing something obvious?

If it worked in Lion booting up in the 64-bit kernel, there is no reason it shouldn't work in ML.

My 828mkII FW works just fine.
