Combining 896mk3 with hybrid version

Hi everyone,

Apologies if this question has already been asked/discussed, but I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to expand an older firewire-only 896mk3 with one of the newer USB/firewire hybrid versions. I'd love to link together my current 896mk3s with a similar device using the FireWire expansion, and then connect it to my PC with the USB connection.

Is this possible? I tried looking on MOTU's website for this info, but had no luck. Would appreciate any feedback.
