Re: Bias, Inc. has ceased operations
I had a feeling something was going on with those discount emails I was getting every day. I thought it was strange they were going to combine Deak and Peak.
I use Peak a ton! What's the alternative? I haven't even bothered to look. Don't say Audacity!
Doesn't Sony or TC have a 2 track editor? Someone does, I just can't remember.
First MacPros, now Bias. What's next to go that plays a major part in my studio?

Scumbag is harsh but I know what you mean. I upgraded and never saw the extra multi-track software they promised.

Re: Bias, Inc. has ceased operations
Man, I was bummed to hear about this. I've used Peak since v1 and it's finalized every cue in my music library.
So, I went on a hunt, and Twisted Wave came up as a pretty cool option. I was able to set all the keystrokes to be the same as how I set them up in Peak. (except the vertical zoom, although I think vertical zoom is cooler in Twisted Wave.)
Twisted Wave has batch processing, multi-channel beyond stereo support, and a bunch of other nice stuff. And it's cheap---$79.90.
My only question is what technology does it use for sample rate conversion. I've emailed their tech support but have not heard back yet. If the sample rate converter isn't high enough quality, I'm already a user of Izoptope's RX2, so I can just Batch process in there. For people who don't have RX2, Audiofile Engineering's Sample Manager uses Izotope's SRC technology and is $80.
All of this seems better than going down the road of WaveLab at $500....

Re: Bias, Inc. has ceased operations
Yeah I was shocked at how bad Wavelab is now, as it used to be great. Windows users are quite unhappy with the new version as well. I guess they did it over from scratch while making the Mac version, so thought they might as well stir it up a bit. The workflow and layout are quite confusing now but were straightforward before. Also, it is buggy and very crash-prone on the Mac. A deep disappointment, and expensive to boot.
