G4 vs. G5?
anyone make the jump from Dual g4 to dual g5? any real performance increase using DP? worth it? any known issues?

Yes, yes! Worth it. I don't even recommend DP to anyone without dual processor G5.

From my G4/733 with 1.5GB Ram to my new G5/2.7 with 8GB (!!!) Ram

Went from an 867 single to a 2.5 dual in January this year. There's no comparison. That doesn't mean that I've not found some limits to the G5. Neither am I certain that some of the problems that occasionally occur are not just software-related.
But, I still have my G4 with the thought of networking it somehow. To be honest, I can't even stand to turn it on-- it's SO slow by comparison. Didn't realize I'd gotten spoiled so quickly.
Besides the processor(s), the extra RAM is a major plus. I only have 4.5 GB, but that's three times that of my G4.
