Yes, yes! Worth it. I don't even recommend DP to anyone without dual processor G5.

Heh. I'm still running DP on my single CPU 867MHz G4. I guess I just don't know what I'm missing. That and I'm too lazy to buy a new computer and install everything again. I totally forgot how I made my custom patch lists, and I'd have to make them again.

Same here. Dual 867 G4 to a dual 2.0 G5. The difference is staggaring.

jumped from G4 2x1.25 to G5 2x1.8 in summer 04. wasn't that giant leap but the G5 was a real bargain, so I had to buy it. Today I would go for a 2x2.5 at least.

Went from an 867 single to a 2.5 dual in January this year. There's no comparison. That doesn't mean that I've not found some limits to the G5. Neither am I certain that some of the problems that occasionally occur are not just software-related.

But, I still have my G4 with the thought of networking it somehow. To be honest, I can't even stand to turn it on-- it's SO slow by comparison. Didn't realize I'd gotten spoiled so quickly.

Besides the processor(s), the extra RAM is a major plus. I only have 4.5 GB, but that's three times that of my G4.

Single G4 867 to dual 2 G5 in fall 2003 it has changed the way I work in all ways. It was a tad expensive at that moment but after two years it still works very good.
