I just installed win 8 consumer preview...
Sonar x1 there are frequent dropouts even at 1020 latency with audio express usb

If you have it attached to USB 3.0 port, install the proprietary driver for it from the motherboard manufacturer's site.

If it's attached to 2.0 port, install the latest chipset drivers.

All day long, I help people out with Win 8, and most don't have even the proprietary storage driver installed, so it's a good idea to install that as well.

Update motherboard bios to latest too, is always a good idea.
