Automation group deselect priority.
Lets say you have 6 tracks grouped and two of them are pairs that were grouped after the other four tracks.
When you option click the first time, have it keep pairs IOW toggle to the next group. A second option click on same the fader will then select single fader as it does now or add the layer to the second OPT click I don;t care.
_________
'Mutes in solo keep automation mutes' is the way it used to be in v3.12!!!!
Give us a pref if it's such a big deal to have it the way it's now so we can all be happy MOTU.
__________
Would love to see an all new PRO-HD192-24 or 32,(4 or 5 rack spaces), with balanced input trims on the front panel 24 VU's two color, blue & red, for Play and record next to each other on each track. Backlight the level markings so we can see easily this time.
DB25 connectors for balanced audio IO & DB25 for digital AES ports so we can use Lynx AES 16 cards instead of or including the PCI 424s proprietary audio wire port. Will firewire 800 handle 24 or 32 simo IO's at once?, great, throw that in too but keep at least the input XLRs on back panel. DB 25's for balanced audio OP to save room would be fine with me.
Use a low profile USB for communications as an alternitive to audio wire for other DAW software users. Create a built in clock as stable and jitter free as a Big Ben or UA 2192.
NO MIC PRE's, just class A front end line level and fantastic IP/OP clarity using Bur Browns. Get away from the cheap IO chips and tinsel tones for a change. My UA 2192 blows away HD192 sonically.
A new IO which REALLY deals with heating issues and supports +27 headroom OP.
Would love to have MOTU finally include a seperate DP software supported stereo/5.1 monitor OP as well with a light pipe to match Macs light port to record mixes directly to computer. The IO and clock would allow a 44.1 16 bit mix, selectable from the front panel whicl the main session was 24 bit whatever. This would really speed workflow.
The fronta panel would allow switches for sync select manually and auto as it is now plus input output port selections manually or auto from PCI Audio console.
Not too much to ask... hehe

A 'jump back by __' function for the counter with its own command key.
You would set the amount of time for counter to jump back by (in secs, bars or beats etc) in prefs and then everytime you press the command key the counter snaps back by that amount.
Uses?
eg When doing note by note edits/tweaks in the graphic editor and you want to keep reviewing the last 4 secs or so - but while steadily making progress through the track. Would saves having to keep moving the memory start forward to keep up with where you're working.

I would lke to be able to freeze the track name in the Mix Window so that it doesn't scroll off the bottom when I am trying to get to an insert or aux send thus making me lose track of which track I am trying to work on. There is a similar function in Excel called "Freeze Panes" for those of you familiar with Excel, though all I want is the option to freeze the bottom portion of the Mix window where the track name is not anything else. I would be happy even if it weren't an option but a constant. It really kills my workflow when I have to count the number of tracks in from the left or right side of the screen so I'm sure I'm looking at the compressor for the guitar and not the vocal e.g.

Here's another Pro Tools feature I'd like to see integrated. (I sound like a PT fan and I'm NOT AT ALL, but there are some nice features in there.):
The ability to automaticaly append text to audio file names upon recording or import.
Ex.:
Kick-SongName
Snare-SongName
Hat-SongName...
In this example, the track would determine the beginning of each audio file name and the text "-SongName" would be defined by the user and then automatically appended to each audio file name. This is very helpful when sorting out audio files later.

I'd be happy if this next update contained NO NEW FEATURES. I'd like them to spend one round of development entirely on bug fixes. Most of all, I'd like to see them get to the bottom of crackles and pops. After experiencing the Holy Grail for even one evening, using an Aggregate Device before it tripped out my file like it was on LSD, I saw and heard how wonderful DP can be if everything functions perfectly with the cleanest audio possible. It was amazing.
That's what I want. I just want everything to work, as advertised. Period.

My wish(es) are simple. Note I love DP, but..
1) MIDI "Regions" ala pro tools in the sequencer editor. This would finally finish off the evil that is the track editor

2) Plugin overhall - get rid off the fluff (e-verb,chorus) and put some decent stock effects like single band compression.
3) Get the convolution reverb from MSI and make it a plugin.
4) In fact - get rid of the tracks window...

I am easy- Punt the audio monitor window. lets just use the VU's in the mixer... a much more streamlined way to visually track what is going on.

That's why I ended up (well one of the reasons anyway)
buying the Elemental Audio Metering/Analysis plugins.
Wayyy better metering then DP.

AUTOMATABLE CLICK!!
I have to record click into an audio track everytime we do a recording session where DP has to slave. Because of preroll, the conductor will never know when 8 clicks into Bar 1 will be. A simple mute/unmute "event" for the metronome in the conductor track would suffice.
Also, it would be great if that occasional "Crash DP when you select the pencil on a new track in the piano roll" bug was fixed. That's been around since DP 4.0!!!!
The new extremely obnoxious audio latency bug fix is pretty high on my list as well.

Ability to open up SVP files
I just posted this idea in response to another thread, but thought I should add it here... not sure if anyone else has suggested it in the many pages preceeding this one...
How about the ability for StudioVisionPro files to be opened up and saved as DP files? Couldn't a utility or plugin be created that would interpret the MIDI data in a SVP file and have all the sequences and comments converted into DP chunks in a new DP file? Even if only limited to MIDI conversion, I would be thrilled.
I have thousands of SVP files (each with numerous embedded sequences) which need to be exported before I can use them in DP or another DAW. That's 14 years worth of work that is still keeping me handcuffed to a G4 that can boot in OS9.
