Heres what I have:
G4 Quicksilver 800 mhz, 1.5 gig ram DP 4.5 and reason 2.5 with a 250 gig external Lacie drive (which the music files alone run off of)
with system 10.2.8.
I am trying to optimize my computer as much as possible since I cant buy another - i have recently added the other hard drive and just maxed out the memory by buying another 500mb. The only thing left is to upgrade the OS to tiger but I am not sure if it is a good idea with my 800 mhz processor - is this OS more CPU heavy than my current or do you feel I would benefit from upgrading??
Would upgrading my OS help or hurt???

Don't know about speed but I think the stability with Tiger/DP 4.6 is really great. You should install the new os on an empty partition (you can make one with 3rd software if you don't have one) just to be sure. If things are working well for you as is though I wouldn't waste the time or energy it takes to put on a new os. If there's an improvement it probably won't be huge. Maybe others who have your same machine will chime in.
