On the MOTU site, it says Version 1.6.52865, dated May 2. The file that downloads says Version 3.3, dated March 26.

Yeah. To me this looks like the same thing just different date.

Not sure if this was there in the last version (don't believe it was), but now using coreaudio volume control is optional - a checkbox in MOTU Audio Setup. Also in the previous version, my keyboard mute key did not work - now it does.

Wrong about the mute button - it still does not work.

What's up with this new way of naming the versions? I believe they internally have version numbers like that, but it seems it only complicates things for the user. Why not just call it 1.6.5 followed by 1.6.6, it's not like they release updates so often they'll run out of numbers ;)

'coreaudio volume control optional checkbox' is greyed out here on 10.4.11

Hmmh
dependence on coreaudio...
OS 9 wasn't that way round...
Anyone tried it on G4 / 10.5 ?

Best

This was not there in the previous version, and I am very pleased they have introduced it. Ever since they enabled core audio volume I had to always check volume was set to maximum, as my outputs are all sent to a calibrated surround monitor controller.

Just tried it on 10.5.8 0n PPC
still greyed out, ( but shows toggled on )

Is this available only from 10.6 on up , or 10.7, or Intel, or PCI ?
