I've had my Ultralite Mk3 working fine for a while using SPDIF IN for my main hardware keyboard + various soft synths.
Now I want to add a hardware sound module (Motif Rack).
I cannot connect via SPDIF as that input is taken already, so I have taken 2 x quarter inch analog jacks out from the Motif Rack and into the Ultralite Analog 3&4.
I get sound but its very quiet, even at full volume on the Rack (with quite a bit of "noise" as well then).
I've got Phones Assign, Main out Assign, and Return Assign all set to Main out 1-2 --- seems like the sound I'm getting is coming via the Return Assign - which is probably wrong?
I've similar issue when plugging a electric guitar into the same analog jacks, very low input.
Any ideas where I might have the set up wrong?

Re: Ultralite Mk3 - struggling with set up
Don't know about the internal routing and issues you may have there, but I do know you can set output levels in your Motif... use a level that matches the input sensitivity on your interface.
Guitars don't work well into Line Ins; level is too low.

Thanks for the reply - but I already did increase the Motif rack levels to highest - it introduces a lot of noise, and its still not very loud.

Re: Ultralite Mk3 - struggling with set up
Apply gain in MOTU CueMix to Analogue 3+4 using the trim, pad or boost.
I'm not sue how your MK3 has it, but it should have one or more choices of those.

Re: Ultralite Mk3 - struggling with set up
Thanks for the reply - I applied some trim. It did make things louder, but also introduced a lot of crackling/noise. I don't have this issue with the SPDIF at all - levels are good, and there is no noise at all.
Not sure what to do now - any suggestions?

Re: Ultralite Mk3 - struggling with set up
Having the exact same issue (but with an actual Motif keyboard). I find that I can reduce the noise if I unplug the other instruments I have inputted into the UltraLite. But yes, the signal is mad low, and adjusting the trim just creates more noise/hum. Annoying. Would love any suggestions if they're out there!
